TIDE@CSUMB Summer Camp 2017

Technology, Innovation and Design Experience at California State University Monterey Bay

A hands-on and fun learning experience for local and international high school students

Welcome!

The Technology, Innovation and Design Experience (TIDE) is a 10-day summer camp that provides aspiring innovators from across the globe, ages 13-18 (high school), the opportunity to build critical technology, innovation, design, communication, entrepreneurship and leadership skills and forge valuable multicultural connections in a US college environment.

The 2017 TIDE@CSUMB summer starts with trending technology workshops in the fundamentals of coding and app design, followed by team work to create a business plan and pitch for a new startup company using Junior Achievement Be Entrepreneurial program, and concludes with a "shark-tank" style team innovation competition. In the competition stage, the young innovators are coached by university professors, college business and computer science students and seasoned professionals. They will practice leadership, entrepreneurship and collaboration skills and present to industry executive and investors. Multinational team-based games, collaboration and sports and bike rides are infused throughout the TIDE@CSUMB.
