The biggest challenge to creating a mobile app is the number of different smartphones that are available in 2011 (e.g. iPhone, Android, Blackberry, PalmOS), and having to design for any specific platform (view campus survey data).
We chose instead to focus on building a web site using the latest technology (i.e. HTML5) that would run on any smartphone's web browser. Read more about our development process.
To that end, you won't see this app in the store of a major brand. Our marketing will focus on getting the custormer to "m.csumb.edu" or "CSUMB.EDU/mobile" to begin their connection with the university.
