General resources for teachers

Created for teachers by an company and the American Federation of Teachers, this site is a resource bank for lessons and activities. Peer reviewed. Easy to search. You can also share your lessons. Create an account for easy bookmarking and saving.

More than 25,000 free tutorials on math, science, English, and more--all in an ad-free environment. A great resource if you're wanting to "flip" part of your classroom.

Skype in the Classroom
Skype has teamed with New York Philharmonic, Penguin Group, London Museum of Science, Peace One Day, and Save the Children to provide teachers  with educational content and access to experts. Great interactions, good content, and a plethora or resources.

Google Search Education
Help your students become better online searchers with Google. This site has lesson plans to help students become better web searchers, video tutorials, and activities.

TED has created a space just for teachers and learning.

PLN Resource Pack
If you don't have your own personal learning network, you need to start one. Chances are you do have some resources you already count on. But there's more. Much more. To get started--and please dont consider this another one of those "to-do's"--you're really gonna love it.

Curriki helps educators with the development of curriculum. Provides a huge range of lessons and unit plans. Allows educators to find, use, and post lessons. You may download, reformat, and use any or all content.

(acronym) Thirty federal agencies providing educational resources including lesson plans for all subjects and research support for homework assignments. Compiles resources available from dozens of federal agencies. Educators can sign up for the RSS feed, which notifies users when new resources are added. Otherwise, browse by topic, from music history to life sciences.

Library of Congress for Teachers  Ready to use classroom materials that are aligned with state standards and take advantage of the Library's primary sources. It includes access to primary source sets around topics such as U.S. presidents, short facts or activities for class starters such as "Today in History" and everyday science mysteries, themed lesson plans for dozens of topics, and also professional development.

NASA for Educators  Features articles with information about NASA's various mission, NASA-created multimedia. Can be searched by keywords, grade level, product type, and subject.

National Science Digital Library
The nation's online library for education and research in science, technologyk, engineering, and mathematics. It provides free math lessons and actvities aligned with the Math Common Core Standards, blogs, lesson-plans, and ideas.

The new  PBS website which is a free service for teachers,students, and parents that offers over 14,000 digital resources for use in the classroom and home. The content is aligned to Common Core State Standards.

PBS Teachers  Online professional development, TV programming and multimedia web content, lesson plan ideas, and ways to connect with other educators are all available through PBS Teachers.

Teachers' Domain
  It offers free digital media from public TV broadcasters for educational use. Users can search for materials via individual state, standards, Common Core State Standards, or national standards from different organizations. Website users can create online profiles in order to share the resources they have learned for a particular lesson with others.

teAchnology  For over a decade, TeAchnology has been providing free and easy to use resources for teachers dedicated to improving the education of today's generation of students. We feature 42,000+ lesson plans, 9,000 free printable worksheets, rubrics, teaching tips, worksheet makers, web quests, math worksheets, and thousands of other great teacher resources. We are the online teacher resource that is designed to help busy Kindergarten through High School teachers.

Thinkfinity--This is a free digital learning platform from the Verizon Foundation that offeres comprehensive teaching and learning resources created by content partneres such as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Council of Teachers, of Mathematics, the International Reading Association, the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, the National Geographic Society, and more. It's content includes interactive student games, lesson plans focused on various themes, education blogs and online discussions, and more.
