Our Advisory Board


Ed Wallace
Ed is currently Director-APT for MWR and has spent 15 years working for the UK Government. With a current remit within the cyber arena, Ed has spent some time working across Government departments, Whitehall and with international liaison to build a comprehensive understanding of advanced cyber risks to UK companies, developing mitigation strategies and engaging with compromised organisations. The latter has involved meeting with and working with companies across a wide range of industry sectors and sizes, ranging from the top of the FTSE and Fortune 500 to small start-ups with limited resources and staff. This has given Ed a broad view of the current cyber landscape and a keen understanding of both the macro and micro effects of the shift change in cyber risk that are now facing most companies across the globe and what steps companies need to start to secure their future.

Don Smith
Don Smith is a leading information security expert and a recognised subject-matter expert in areas as diverse as state-sponsored APT attacks and identity and access management. Don leads the Dell SecureWorks Counter Threat Unit in EMEA which gives him unparalleled visibility into the threat landscape as well as effective countermeasures and protective security strategies. This insight is shared at government conferences and security gatherings around the world.

Don has worked in the IT industry for 21 years and joined Dell SecureWorks in 2005. Don was instrumental in the construction of the identity management practice and the evolution of the Managed Security Services portfolio in EMEA. Prior to this, Don was responsible for security architecture and operations for a multi-billion enterprise and took a lead role in successfully integrating 14 acquisitions. Don serves as an evangelist for the Dell SecureWorks CTU in EMEA. He is a recognised security subject-matter expert and advises Dell and Dell’s customers globally.

Julie Meyer
Julie is Chairman and Chief Executive - Ariadne Capital; Managing Partner – Ariadne Fund; Founder – EntrepreneurCountry; MBE for Services to Entrepreneurship. Julie holds an MBA from INSEAD, where she now sits on the Board of Directors and was named one of their top 50 alumni. Julie built the first social network for Internet entrepreneurs in 1998-2000, First Tuesday, which she sold for $50 million in July 2000, and many credited with igniting the Internet generation in Europe.

Julie was instrumental in the early stages of leading European Internet businesses: lastminute.com, WGSN, Espotting, Skype, Zopa, SpinVox and Monitise. She and her team have sold businesses to Google (BeatThatQuote – March 2011), EMI, and private equity. Julie manages the Ariadne Capital Entrepreneurs Fund with her partners, and has developed the Ecosystem Economics™ Investment Methodology of the firm. She created EntrepreneurCountry and her book, Welcome to EntrepreneurCountry, has been published in 2012 in many countries, and she writes regularly for Forbes, BA High Life, LinkedInand the Financial Times. Julie on the Board of Vestergaard Frandsen (another family business), the for-profit humanitarian development firm, several of her portfolio companies (Taggstar, Quill, Bitx), on the Advisory Boards of Economia publication, Group Silverline (another family business).
















Mark Stanhope
Mark is current Head of Operations and Governance for PayM and Senior Secretary of the Cyber Security Forum Initiative (CSFI-CWD) for the EMEA region. 

Mark has had a distinguished career as a security professional with over 20 years experience, mainly in the payments industry including Lead Security Architect and prior Senior Manager eCrime for LloydsTSB and Later Lloyds Banking Group; Faster Payment Scheme Manager for CHAPS; held the roles at BACS of variously Information Security Manager/ Architect, Security Design Authority, and Certificate Authority Manager; and Information Security Manager for Voca.

Mark Powell
Mark is currently Director of Enterprise Architecture at Lloyds Banking Group, the UK’s largest retail bank following his prior role at the bank as Head of Innovation. Mark is an ambitious senior technology leader, with industry leading skills and deep technical knowledge gained within the global financial services sector over the past 25 years.

David Garrison    
Dave is the chief navigator of Garrison Growth (www.garrisongrowth.com), a holding company that advises and invests in accomplished CEOs. His unique perspective is informed by his background as a pioneering technology leader at the forefront of the mobile Internet revolution and as an independent board member. His focus on aligning energy, strategy and individuals has proven to move organizations and their leaders to new heights of both performance and shareholder value. Dave is currently co-authoring a book about the intersection of physics and organizational effectiveness.

As an industry visionary and trusted adviser, Dave has been quoted in The New York Times, USA Today, Financial Times, the BBC and other top-tier business media outlets worldwide. He has also appeared on CNBC, CNN, CNN International, Bloomberg TV and CBC TV. He has presented at high-profile events such as FiRE, Consumer Electronics Show, National Association of Corporate Directors, Demo, Young Presidents Organization, and Cable Television Association of Marketing.

Dave has served on more than a dozen public and private boards. His roles have included inside Director,independent Director, lead outside Director, compensation committee chair, audit committee member, Chair of CEO search committee and nominating and governance committee member. As an independent director, he drove the selection of and mentored the CEO of the online trading giant Ameritrade. He serves as Global Chair of the Young Presidents Organization Business Networks Council and is a member of the Young Presidents International Network Committee.

Dave is an airline transport rated pilot who has broken the speed of sound as a civilian at the controls of an F-16 fighter jet. He and his wife Nancy recently completed an open-water sailing expedition through the intertropical convergence zone of the South Pacific between Rarotonga, Cook Islands and the Kingdom of Samoa. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University.

Dane Hansen
Dane has over 25 years in Business Development, Sales Management and General Management roles within Media and IT&T. He also sits on the management board of the Sunshine Coast Children's Therapy Centre. 

Dane commenced his career with major Publishing and Radio groups; Senior Account Manager, Advertising Sales Manager and General Manager roles in metropolitan and regional markets. He moved into IT & Telecommunications cable networks in Business Operations and Business Development roles. Worked with Digital Media, VoIP, Pay TV, FTTx and Managed Services in commercial and residential markets.

Dane returned to Media in 2012, managing Southern Queensland sales and operations for Prime Radio, a division of the Prime Media Group. The network was sold to Grant Broadcasters in 2013. He re-joined the Prime Media Group in June 2014 as Canberra Sales Manager for Prime7 Television.
Colin Renouf
Colin has a background in Enterprise and Solution Architecture, Security Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, Integration, Mergers and Acquisitions, Divestitures, WebSphere Application Server, Oracle WebLogic Server, Linux, AIX, Solaris, JavaEE, ESB, Oracle DB, integration expert; technical, infrastructure and application architecture.

Most recently Colin been focussing on innovation in the security space, including making use of his original Aeronautical Engineering background when he looking at security in the aerospace industry; and, recently published in eForensics magazine.

Colin also write books and magazine articles, such as in Pen Testing and Hakin9 magazines; and Pro WebSphere Application Server 7 Internals. He is also cited in the most fundamental patent of the internet.

Lani Refiti
With over 17 years experience, Lani Refiti is an innovative Business and Technology thought leader specialising in Risk and Cyber security, Business Technology Consulting, and building and leading highly successful technology teams. Lani is an AISA Board Member, QLD Branch Chair, and Spokesperson for AISA’s Advocacy Group. Lani speaks nationally at conferences and is a regular commentator on cyber security matters affecting industry and the wider public community.

Mike O'Hagan
Mike's business career started with buying and selling goods as a second-hand dealer. 8 years later the entrepreneur in Mike surfaced when he launched a short distance furniture removal business. This evolved into MiniMovers. MiniMovers is today an innovative market leader, growing from an initial investment of $200 and a Ute, to an annual turnover exceeding $21 million with over 350 employees. Mike also has interests in a number of other businesses.

Mike is a Life Member of the Australian Institute of Management (AIM). He has been on various Government committees including a Small Business Advisory Panel to the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia and a term as a Commissioner on the Australian FairPay Commission, charged with the responsibility of setting the minimum pay for workers in Australia. He is also on several boards including The Cyber Institute (TCI) and the National Board of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Mike's business MiniMovers is also the recipient of many Employer of the Year awards as well as 2003 Telstra Small Business of the year.

Donna Meredith
Donna is Managing Director, Keystone Corporate Positioning; and, Principal, Interaction Associates Australasia

Since co-founding Keystone in 1997 Donna and her team have designed and managed strategic brand, marketing and cultural change projects for more than 250 organisations both within Australia and overseas, and also provided specialist consultancy services to airlines and tourism organisations nationally and internationally on aviation, digital and distribution issues. In 2011, she became Principal of Interaction Associates (a global leadership and development company headquartered in Boston) in Australasia.

Prior to Keystone and Interaction Associates she was with Qantas where her last role was as Group Brands Manager/Manager International Product. Her responsibilities included complete re-imaging of the merged airline (new aircraft interiors, lounges, airports and print material) and ongoing responsibility for all aspects of the Qantas brand and the design and delivery of the international product (on the ground and in the air). She is on the National Council of Women Chiefs of Enterprises International (Australia), a global advisor to the Bali Institute for Global Renewal and a Director of the Australasian Spa and Wellness Association (ASWell).
