Awards

Over the last few years, the Asian Penguins have been recognized for their work in closing the Digital Divide in their community. In fact, the leadership and members of the club of been the recipients of several awards. Here is a list:

People's Choice Award

In February 2016, Stu Keroff (Asian Penguins Director) was named a winner of the Opensource.com People's Choice Award for articles about the Asian Penguins published on their website.



 

Distinguished Alumni Humanitarian Award

In April 2017, Stu Keroff was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Humanitarian Award from the Minnesota State University Mankato Alumni Association for his work with the Asian Penguins.



Sustainable Saint Paul Award 

In April 2016, the Asian Penguins won the Sustainable Saint Paul Award in the Under 18 Leadership Category. The award was for their work in recycling computers for needy families and limiting e-waste.



 

Excellence Award

In August 2017, the Asian Penguins won the second annual Excellence Award from the Minnesota eLearning Summit. The award was in the Category of Impact.


 


In December 2016, the Asian Penguins won the the first annual Innovation Award from the Minnesota Association of Charter Schools. The award was in the category of Increased Learning Opportunities for Pupils.
