Student leaders work on developing their leadership skills at recent CAS Conference

Student leaders from our elementary and middle schools, under the direction of Mrs. Leona Clerkin, worked on developing their leadership skills at a recent CAS conference.

On January 11, six student leaders from HALS, DiLoreto and Pulaski Middle Schools attended the CAS Middle Level Leadership Conference held at Trinity College in Hartford.

Nasser Alhamami (Pulaski) and Jaiden Benitez (HALS) are Student Ambassadors while the other grade seven students - Michael Cordero, Cheyira Oquendo, Trusty Dezarya (DiLoreto) and Eliza Marquez (Pulaski) - are aspiring National Junior Honor Society members.

Students were assigned groups and attended various workshops on leadership, diversity and making a difference at school. Pictured with them in the photo above is A’Ric Jackson, the keynote speaker. Jackson is an international motivational speaker and leadership workshop presenter who gives a high quality, authentic leadership development experience for young people.

On January 8, six student leaders from Chamberlain, DiLoreto, Jefferson and Gaffney attended the CAS Elementary Leadership Conference at Naugatuck Community College in Waterbury, CT. The students who participated were Student Ambassadors Jeniye Acevdeo (Chamberlain), Olivia Escobales (DiLoreto), Alvin Ayika (Jefferson) and LEAP students from Gaffney Elementary School: Jade Benitez, Naida Dautovic & Adi Zanovic. The students attended workshops on leadership, diversity and dealing with bullying at school.
