GIRLS(and boys)

The purpose of this  one -day workshop is to introduce students to careers and classes in Canyons School District, related to  engineering and woodworking.  This workshop will be held at Brighton High.  It is $5  and open to any students 7th - 10th grade. During the workshop the students will make 3 or 4 small woodworking projects.  Students will be instructed on how to safely operate a wood lathe and will use it to create their projects. They will also use a laser engraver and be briefly introduced to 3-d printing. The projects that have been selected are intended to be of specific interest to girls.  However, boys are welcome to take the workshop too.  Possible projects may include a bracelet, night light, ice cream scoop handle and ring stand.  Students will be encouraged to create their own designs within a set framework.  This workshop will be a lot of fun.  It will be the students best day ever!
