Right from the Start is a Mental Health Capacity Building (MHCB) project and is delivered through a partnership between Alberta Health Services and Alberta Education. The Purpose of the initiative is to establish MHCB projects in communities throughout Alberta to deliver local
integrated community-driven mental health promotion and prevention programs, with school as their hubs.

Right from the Start works in both Canmore and Banff to offer mental health support and prevention for the local schools and community. Our team consists of two wellness mentors Kat Wiebe and Deren Alward that run daily programming focusing on all areas of mental health and wellness and two success coaches that work with small groups and individuals, Allyson VanImpe and Kate Rive. There is also one project coordinator that oversees the project (Mary Weighell).
