Heat Sinks

Heat sinks   What are they and why do you need them?
Well, without a heat sink your processing chip would fry.  Lets just say that it keeps the brain of the computer cooool.
Recently, I replaced a heat sink on a 487 socket motherboard.  The old one was making the entire case shake.  So after hitting the usual parts places i discovered there's nothing like an old computer and finding parts.  To tell you the truth the only place to find older parts or even replacement parts (new) is online.  Now you do have to be careful here.  I was a little stunned when i received the new heat sink and it was twice the size of the old one. The big concerned was that the case would not close.  It did but it's a tight fit in my opinion.  The computer runs really quiet now.  You barely know it's on.
