Study Island

Study Island is an online resource to help students improve on specific standards. Study Island is linked with MAP testing results. So, when students log-in to Study Island, they are directed to the types of questions they most need to work on. Students made 1- 4 years of growth in my classroom last year. The students that spent a lot of time practicing on Study Island at home made significantly more gains than those who did not study at home. Study Island is online, and available to students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please use this incredible program. I monitor usage, and I see a direct relationship between time spent on Study Island and growth made. Students used to log in on the Study Island site. However, last year, that changed. Students will need to use the Clever log in to get to Study Island. It links student gmail accounts with Study Island and MAPS. Go to Clever.com. Practice often. Students should try to use Study Island 3 hours per week at home, which is about 30 minutes each day.

We will be using Google Classroom this year. Google Classroom is available anywhere there is internet access. Assignments, videos, slides, forms, links, and notes will be posted to Google Classroom, so students have an opportunity to revisit the day's learning, catch up on missed assignments if gone, and easily communicate with me. Students will have access to Google Classroom through their gmail address.
