Through the Healthy People 2020 program, the Pennsylvania Department of Health has set goals for each county to increase healthy living.  Crawford County has been moving positively in areas such as cancer and diabetes, due to medical advances and increased efficiency in health care facilities like the Meadville Medical Center, however obesity and cirrhosis, a liver disease caused mostly by alcoholism, have been increasing along with maltreatment of adolescents in the area.
