Computer Science Education Week & Hour of Code
CS Ed Week

From the Hour of Code Website:
"We live in a world surrounded by technology. And we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly hinge on understanding how technology works. But only a tiny fraction of us are learning computer science, and less students are studying it than a decade ago."

AP Enrollment

Being a Responsible Digital Citizen
Learning to be respectful online is just as important as being respectful in a face-to-face situations. Students in grades 6-8 spend time discussing ethics and safety behind using different types of technology and internet websites. Lessons from the Common Sense Media curriculum give students a chance to voice the impact social media, online communication, and digital media has had on their lives and how they can prepare themselves for different challenges they may face in the future.

Parents, visit the Common Sense Media website for resources supporting cyberbullying, internet safety, and other digital media tools.

Acceptable Use Policy
The technology in our schools is available to support teaching and learning. It is expected that technology be used for educational purposes. All students and staff have signed and agreed to follow the CPSD Acceptable Use Policy when using technology in Cambridge Public School. View the most current policy online.
