This message is to all Community Members to be aware of Fire Safety, that there is a Fire ban in effect.
Please advised that due to the ongoing dry conditions a fire ban has been implemented on the Cowessess First Nation until further notice.
Any one wanting a controlled fire should contact Aaron Sparvier at 1- 306-696-7031
or John Dennis Lerat at 1-306-589-9040.
Any violation of this ban may result in fines and/or criminal prosecution.

Deadline this year is November 4, 2017. This is to ensure that the process for the Annual $50.00 Christmas gifts will be ready to be mailed out by November 25, 2016. Therefore it is crucial that all members call in before the deadline. Please pass this message onto family members that may have moved or any 18 year olds that have not contacted the band..
All Christmas Gifts will be mailed out this year there will be no pick ups .

The Cowessess First Nation invites all those membership who have not received their Per Capita Distribution to please contact our office with your updated address. We will forward an application to you or you may download the Application - Form 1 or Form 2 or Form 3, whichever applies to you. Please complete the Form 1 with two (2) pieces of legible identifications and return to our office as follows:

Parents, if you have children under the age of 18, the funds will be held in trust until they turn 18 and they must apply on their own behalf and fill out Form 1. **PLEASE DO NOT PRE-APPLY ON THEIR BEHALF**
Please remember once you turn 18 years of age, you have (1) one year to apply for your trust dollars and will be forfeited if you miss the deadline. Please submit clear copies of Identification along with completed Form 1 application.
Parents or guardians or trustees or executors of a 18 year old must complete Form 2 along with clear legible photocopies of identification of both the 18 year and yourself, along with court documents stating you are the person looking after the 18 year old financial affairs. You only have (1) one year to apply after the 18 year old turns of age.
Form 3 is to be used for a deceased loved one, with the same requirements and along with a death certificate.
Please note** according to the policy the time has now ended for adults to apply for the Flood Claim Per Capita Distribution. The (3) three year timeline was from May 16, 2013 to May 16, 2016.
