Library books are due! Lists are posted of all students with overdue books outside the library. Get those books in.

Hi Everyone!  We have a food drive going on right now for the school districts backpack program.  If you bring food to donate next Tuesday you will get a candy!!!  The box is located in the commons, wait until a leadership representative is there to get a reward.  Bring food, like applesauce, soup, things that are easy for small kids to open themselves!!  Thanks LP Pride!

We have some nice lost and found items in the library including a purple cloth lunch bag left by someone in Senate II of Mock Congress on Tuesday. We also have some great books that do not belong to the library.  If you lost a favorite novel this year please check with us.  We might have it.

The Linus Pauling track and field team sent a small number of athletes to a meet in Philomath yesterday.  It was a great day for the team, with new school records in the 100 hurdles, in which both Wendy Hare and Ellie Hintzman went under the previous record.  In the girls 4 x 400 meter relay, the team of Sydney Soskis, Emma Hollon, Alivia Pittman, and Ellie Hintzman broke the school record for the 2nd week in a row.

Come out and support the whole track team next Tuesday as they host their last regular season meet.

Congratulations to our track athletes for their fine performances last night in Dallas.  It was a very late night, but we had an outstanding time set by our girls’ 4 x 400 relay team of Ellie Hintzman, Alivia Pittman, Emma Hollon, and Sydney Soskis.  They set a new school record in a state-best time of 4:18.
Mr. Rose is aware of mistakes in results for the girls’ 100M and 100 hurdles races, please ignore those results for now.

Are you ready to dance? This evening is the “Night Under the Stars” at the Boys and Girls Club, that’s May 5th from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Tickets are $6 with Club Card or $7 for non-members. Remember to bring your school ID and as always, the school dress code will be enforced.

All students and staff…Have you done the update on your iPads to 10.3.1 yet? Do it today…your teachers are going to check for the update tomorrow! Go to settings, then the General Tab, then check for update. This update will help us find your iPad when it’s lost.

There will be a brief meeting, at lunch, on Friday, April 28th (this upcoming Friday), in AHP, for all 6th graders and WEB Leaders who will be helping with the upcoming 5th grade tours.
Lists of recommended 6th grade tour guides and WEB volunteers will be posted in the 6th grade house and on the WEB message board (outside the attendance window), prior to the Friday meeting.

All students and staff…Have you done the update on your iPads to 10.3.1 yet? Do it tonight…it’s really an important update. Go to settings, then the General Tab, then check for update. This update will help us find your iPad when it’s lost.

There will be a brief meeting, at lunch, on Friday, April 28th (this upcoming Friday), in AHP, for all 6th graders and WEB Leaders who will be helping with the upcoming 5th grade tours.
Lists of recommended 6th grade tour guides and WEB volunteers will be posted in the 6th grade house and on the WEB message board (outside the attendance window), prior to the Friday meeting.

Congratulations to the LPMS track teams at our first home meet yesterday!  There were many personal records and several LP athletes now have the top times in Oregon for middle schoolers!  The team is back in action at McMinnville next Thursday.

Teen Writers meet this week at the Corvallis Public Library in Conference Room A. Meetings this month on April 13th and the 27th from 4:30-5:30 pm. This is open to Teen Writers in middle and high school. Free materials provided. No sign-ups required, just show up ready to write and talk about writing.

Last weekend the Oregon Music Educators Association held their District 11 middle school solo and ensemble festival. Students voluntarily worked on extra music to perform in front of an audience and a judge.
Congratulations to string quartet members Ada Tseng, Holly Brewster, Hanu Nahm and Macy Swenson! They represented Linus Pauling beautifully with great sportsmanship and musicianship – Their quartet received a superior rating!
