Cleaning on Thursday for Hands-on-History Day - Sat.

Good evening!  This post is to remind you of our Hands-on-History day this coming Saturday.  We are looking for some volunteers to give our museum a quick dusting and cleaning on Thursday, whenever you can get there after 9:00 a.m. Even if you can only give an hour, your time and expertise would be most welcome!  Also, if you intended to loan us a cooler or two for this special event, this would be a good time to do so.  Thank you for all that you do for our area communities, especially for the Historical Society!  I hope to see you this Thursday and of course on Saturday!   Thanks, Ann Clark

Hands-on-History Day

Cost: FREE  - Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult over 18       

Activities, Demonstrations, and Old English country dance

Food, Drink & Souvenirs available for purchase

Old time activities: 11:00-3:00

Dance: 3:00-4:30

Donation will be accepted.

All donations will help to fund operations at the Corry Area Historical Society Museum.

A day filled with old time activities for children, for example:  playing five stones, nine pins, archaeological dig, drop spinning wool and over fifteen additional activities.

First 500 students to complete an activity card will receive an antique penny souvenir and gently used book.

Demonstrations will be by blacksmiths, a china painter, woodcarvers, miniature steam engines builder to name just a few.

3:00 - 4:30 Old English country dancing (19th century dance) no experience needed, learn as you go: fun for the whole family!
