Prompt for Chapters 1-12 (Due Monday, March 27):

Write a journal entry from Moose's point of view that explains one of the challenges he faces at his new home and school. Use the "I" point of view, and use words and language that Moose would. Try to make it sound like Moose's voice.

Your journal entry must explain one of his challenges, and it must make 2 predictions about how the challenge might turn out. If you already know what happens in the book, remember that you are pretending to be Moose, and that Moose doesn't know what is going to happen. The journal entry should be no less than 10 sentences.

Prompt for Chapters 1-22 (Due Monday, April 3)

At the beginning of chapter 19, Moose writes a letter to his old friend Pete. From Moose's point of view, write out the letter you think he sent. What would you share with him? Would you ask his advice? You must include an explanation of at least two events, including how Moose felt about the events. Your letter must be no shorter than 15 sentences.

    Prompt for Part II

We all know the phrase, actions speak louder than words. There is a lot left unsaid between Moose and his mother. Based on their actions in Part 2, what do you think their words would be?

You will write two paragraphs (each no less than 6 sentences): a one-paragraph speech that Moose would say to his mother, and a one-paragraph speech that his mother would say to him. You are not writing a conversation between them, you are putting into words what you think they have shown through their actions.
