Welcome to the NextG Channel Model Alliance Wiki platform!

This group (formerly operated as the 5G Millimeter-Wave (mmWave) Channel Model Alliance) is an international, open, collaborative research effort sponsored by The Communications Technology Research Laboratory within the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The NextG Channel Model Alliance supports the fundamental characterization of future wireless channel propagation models. The group recently broadened its scope to support research across a wide range of frequency bands, such as Terahertz, that enable 5G and beyond wireless systems. This group supports the wireless standards community by making measurement data, channel models, and other research findings available in an open-source environment. By leveraging expertise from across the next generation wireless research community, this group can more accurately map the current state of the communications industry, identify current and future gaps in channel measurement and modeling, and inform decisions on where additional research will create the greatest impact.

This group launched in July 2015 and has since grown to include over 361 participants representing 180 organizations. For more information on the NextG Channel Model Alliance kickoff meeting, please read the following press release:

Organizational Structure

The Alliance is divided into six collaborative working groups that include a Steering Committee; Modeling Methodology Group; Measurement Methodology Group; and groups that focus on defining and parameterizing Indoor, Outdoor, and Emerging Usage Scenarios. Previous meeting minutes and research outputs  are available on the individual working group pages located on the left sidebar. You may also visit this site to review a copy of the organizational charter, the organization's points of contact, and materials from past meetings on the Additional Resources page.
