Microbiology Journal Club (BIOMI 7910) is a weekly meeting of faculty and students in the Field of Microbiology and beyond. In these colloquia, students are paired with faculty members to co-present contemporary or seminal papers in the field of microbiology. Student objectives are (1) to evolve our critical reading, analysis, and presentation skills, (2) to expand our horizons and explore areas of microbiology that we otherwise would not, and (3) to discuss current progress in the field with faculty and peers.

Meeting Time: Journal club meets on Tuesday at 12pm-1pm in Wing Hall room 406.

Presentation Format: Traditionally, students suggest a paper (although the faculty may provide suggestions as well). During the presentation, faculty members provide 15-20min of background information on the topic, followed by an in-depth discussion of the paper by the student.

Contact Information: Journal club is led by Dr. Esther Angert and co-organized by graduate student volunteers
