Coplin Clay Studio was created in the winter of 2009 as a teaching studio to serve the needs of its potters. It provides an outlet for the expression of the ceramic arts and a place to expand a potter's knowledge of the ceramic arts in a safe community atmosphere. Small classes of 6 promote a quality interactive space to create pots.

It is a place designed to enhance lives through reasonably priced stimulating classes in a small intimate setting or simply to provide a warm welcoming professional environment in which to work. A is a dependable place to work in the continuing quest for the perfect pot.

It is located on the enlarged patio of my home and features large handbuilding tables, a slab roller, two potters wheels and plenty of ambiance. The misting system and plenty of fans offset the Texas heat. Mosquitoes are banned.

Low fire ceramics is our current focus of firing. Stains, low fire glazes, saggar firing, layered color clay, texture imprinting or even horse hair firings…whatever the imagination can dream.

Possibilities are endless and suggestions always welcome.
