Member Recognition

The Phi Alpha Delta Grant

Phi Alpha Delta (PAD) is proud to announce that it will be offering a $100.00 Grant in the form of a campus bookstore gift certificate each term to the PAD member who contributes significantly to the growth and development of PAD on each of the Lansing, Auburn Hills, and Grand Rapids campuses.  A total of 3 (three) certificates will be given each term; one per campus.  The gift certificate for each campus shall come from the bookstore that provides service to the respective Cooley campus.

In order to qualify for Grant, the PAD member must have attended a majority of PAD events/activities offered by the campus where they are primarily registered or contributed significantly to the planning, development, or execution of a majority of events/activities associated with the campus where they are primarily registered.  Of those who qualify for the Grant, the E-board will determine the recipient of the Grant based on the following, non-exhaustive, criteria: 1) event/meeting attendance, 2) enthusiasm in promoting PAD principles, 3) willingness to help plan/promote/execute PAD events and activities, 4) overall contribution to the Fraternity.  Each campus will have a minimum number of PAD events for members to attend in order to qualify for the PAD Grant.  The number of events for each campus will be determined each term by the E-board.

The E-board determines which member from the Lansing campus will receive the Grant.  The Grand Rapids (GR) Chairperson will determine the recipient of the Grant at the GR campus.  If there is no GR Chairperson, the E-board will determine the recipient of the GR Grant.  The Auburn Hills (AH) Chairperson will determine the recipient of the Grant at the AH campus.  If there is no AH Chairperson, the E-board will determine the recipient of the AH Grant.

In the event that no member attends a majority of events or contributes to a majority of events/activities, the Executive Board (E-board) shall determine the recipient of the Grant, based on the following, non-exhaustive, criteria: 1) event/meeting attendance, 2) enthusiasm in promoting PAD principles, 3) willingness to help plan/promote/execute PAD events and activities, 4) overall contribution to the Fraternity.  However, the E-board reserves the right to withhold the Grant on any campus for the term.

E-Board members do not qualify for the Grant.  For purposes of this Grant, a member becomes an E-board member the term after being sworn in.  If an e-board member is elected and sworn in at any time before the usual end-of-term elections, he or she shall be deemed an E-board member for that term.

When a member receives the Grant they are ineligible from receiving the Grant for the following two terms they are enrolled and attending classes.  Money for the Grant comes from PAD's personal funds.  SBA funds are not used.
