wHAT TO look forward For Fall 2012:

  • Special Thanks to everyone who attended our 2nd ANNUAL CELEBRATION OF HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH. Thank you for your ongoing support.

  • The Black Law Students Association and the Hispanic Latino Law Society are sponsoring a team to walk in the Making Strides event in Ann Arbor to benefit breast cancer research.

When:  Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.

Where: Washtenaw Community College

We would love to have all of you come and support the team.

Visit to join our team, Cooley Orgs Against Breast Cancer.

Once you go on the website and you have found the team, just hit Join Team and register as a walker. You then can send a link to your family and friends and ask them to make a donation to the American Cancer Society on behalf of the team. You can even send it through your Facebook page.
In order to raise funds for the cause, we will be selling shirts for anyone who is walking with us or would just like to support the cause. We are also hoping to have the participation of neighborhood restaurants, such as Applebees and Chillis, to donate to help us meet our fundraising goal. Additionally, we will be hosting a bowling night some time in October. Dates for these fundraising events will be announced soon.
Our team has a donation goal of $500 and I know if we work together, we can make it happen and even surpass that goal! If you have any questions about the event or the fundraisers, please email Shakiva Wade, BLSA President, at  or Mia Guerra, HLLS President, at
Thanks in advance for the support!
