Protest for Egypt

In light of the inspiring uprising of the Egyptian people, we are teaming up with Michigan State University in organizing a protest at the Capitol.  Egyptians have been rallying for over a week, facing tear gas, ammunition, attacks, and arrests - all in the name of freedom.  We challenge our representatives to reach out to the U.S. government to take a step towards a better world by siding with the people, not their oppressors. We urge you all to come out to the Capitol Building February 4 to show our support and solidarity.  We call on you to take a stand not just for the rights of Egyptians, but for all mankind.  We call on you to be a part of history.

Diversity Day

The American Bar Association Law Student Division would like to cordially invite you and your Membership to attend a Panel Discussion, "Crisis Amongst Us," held on Wednesday, March 2 in cc401 from 12-2PM. The forum will be between our organization and Jewish Law Society.  The main topics are the NYC Mosque, the Egyptian Crisis, and the Israeli-Palestine Conflict.

End of Term Party!

Time is winding down - as we're inching closer to that dreaded time of the term where 9 cups of a coffee are a minimum and all nighters are a must, we'd like to have everyone gather for a laid back night.  Come out to Saylis Hookah Lounge Thursday, March 10 at 10 pm - just sit back and relax and hang out amongst friends, hookah and tea are on us!  Please reply back asap so we can get a head count and have the private room prepared for us ahead of time.  Thanks and we hope to see you all there :)

Like in any great democracy, inauguration time is here - elections will be held Thursday March, 17 at 1 in cc301.   All positions are available - President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Diversity Chair.  Please email me back by tonight with the position you would like to run for so I can set up a roster - that also goes to those that are currently occupying these positions.  Please have something quick prepared as to why you are fit to be in that position.  To avoid sending a long exhaustive list of duties of each position, feel free to just hit reply or you can directly talk to me or any current officer if you have questions.  Side note- per the bylaws, as with any other organization at this school, only paid members can run or vote.  Please still come to support candidates - either way, this meeting is mandatory as we will discuss how we willl move forward.  Thanks and see you all tomorrow :)
