Kathleen O'Connor, Director of Student Instruction & Spanish Teacher

¡Hola! 2017-2018 is my fifteenth year as a teacher at Conserve School, and my fourth year here as Director of Student Instruction. From 2005-2014 I served Conserve School as our Academic Dean. I have taught all levels of Spanish for over twenty-six years at universities and here at Conserve. The use of words to make the world a better place, and the exploration of humankind's relationship with nature as a fundamental source of both of our identities and our ultimate well-being are my passions. Consequently, I am very happy and grateful to be living, learning, and working in the beautiful Northwoods where every day promises new connections with others and with our earth.
As a teacher and Conserve's Director of Student Instruction, I aspire to create a safe, collaborative, and dynamic learning environment where all students and teachers feel inspired to creatively develop their imaginations, skills, and intellect through meaningful connections with all cultures and with the earth.  When I am not working, I love to spend time with family and friends, read, bike, hike, travel, and cook.
