5K Trail Run and Kid Sprint
Saturday, October 1, 2016
4441 Salvia St., Golden, CO 80403
We have expanded our race into a series. The 5K and Kid Sprint will be held October 1st in conjunction with our Farm School Harvest Festival. The 10 Mile event on North Table Mountain will be held in January of 2017. We will end the 2016-2017 School year with a mountain bike race. Details regarding the 10 Mile event and the mountain bike race will be announced in November.
The race takes place at the Golden Compass Montessori Campus where students, teachers, and families come together to show their school spirit and enjoy a healthy weekend activity together.
100% of the profits will go directly back to our students and teachers at Compass Montessori School.
Join us after the race for the Compass Harvest Festival where you will enjoy live music, games, crafts, food, and the Compass Farm Stand and Pumpkin Patch where you can purchase produce grown by our students. This Harvest Festival is organized and run by the Farm School students (ages 12-15). Support our working village by purchasing pumpkins, preserves, crafts, treats, and lunch made by middle school students. Hay rides, petting zoo, and other events are free and open to all.
For information about sponsorships or donations please contact firstname.lastname@example.org Compass Montessori School is a Preschool through 12th grade Colorado Public Charter School that was approved by the Jefferson County School Board on December 11, 1997 and opened in the fall of 1998. The parents who created Compass Montessori are committed to the Montessori philosophy because of the positive learning experience their children have had in Montessori schools. In keeping with this teaching philosophy, the school's campus (the Wheat Ridge Pre-K through 6th Grade campus is located at 10399 West 44th Avenue in Wheat Ridge and the Golden PreK through 12th Grade campus is located at 4441 Salvia Street in Golden) has ample space for indoor and outdoor education and play. Multi-age classrooms, with children acting as both students and teachers, foster a close-knit community where children learn to respect themselves, others and the environment. Children progress at their own pace, mastering a set progression of skills and learning objectives. This self-paced curriculum with traditional Montessori materials encourages independence, problem-solving, and a lifelong love of learning. Historically, Montessori elementary students do well compared to their elementary peers. Montessori schools are academically high-rated schools, and Compass Montessori plans to continue this tradition.
