Welcome to the Urban CLT Project microsite. This is the hub for the Urban CLT Project and its network of participants: communities, across the country, who are transforming the urban landscape by providing permanently affordable homes and other assets to meet their needs. On this site, you will find details of funding to support urban Community Land Trusts (CLTs), resources and guidance to help your journey as a CLT and a chance to connect with other CLT practitioners across the country.
The Urban CLT Project is run by the National CLT Network, the national charity for Community Land Trusts in England and Wales.
We believe that Community Land Trusts are a great solution for urban housing markets: they address affordability issues, provide local ideas for regeneration and build strong communities. However, urban CLTs often have a challenging journey, with a complex political, economic and social environment to navigate.
The Urban CLT Project is a two year programme to see CLTs flourish in cities across England and Wales. We will support 20 demonstration schemes to take their projects forward, with grant support, training and other resources. In doing so, we will learn more about the ingredients needed to make urban CLTs rise and campaign for urban CLTs to be supported wherever they form.
As well as grants for the 20 demonstration urban CLTs, we will also be supporting peer networks and the development of a knowledge bank for urban CLTs, so that a Community Land Trust can really be an option for all.
Applications to this year’s grants programme opened on 21st September 2015. The fund closes on 2nd November 2015.
