Men's Ministries

Our United Methodist Men are known for their cooking, grilling, working and serving!
Our men are the famous cook team that was given the name "Pork Chop Express" by the people of the Mississippi Gulf Coast during the hurricane Katrina recovery.  Their cooking and compassionate soul is the hallmark of the UMM ministry at Columbus First.  If you ask why they serve you may hear: "It's not enough to provide great food to people in disasters (although the food is great). What we are about is bringing good cheer. It's the smiles and lifted spirits of the people we serve that makes our day and lights our fire."  Participating in disaster response is only part of their ministry.  Our men host a United Methodist Men Concert Series that brings Christian artists to our community.  These conserts are funded through, you guessed it, cooking! and the support of our community.  Fried Turkeys and smoked loins at Thanksgiving, their famous Market Street "Garbage Can Gumbo", ribs, and "Poke Chop Sammiches" are all keys to raising funds for ministry.  We raise a crawfish to our UMM, they do ministry that makes us proud!

If you would like info on how you can be part of this ministry call our church office at 662.328.5252 or email betty@columbusfumc.org.
