I am very excited to be a part of your child’s science education this school year at Columbiana Middle School! This is my 16th year teaching middle school science, and I am looking forward to a very successful year working with you to help your children reach their full potential. I am originally from Negley, Ohio. I graduated from Beaver Local High School, and attended Kent State University where I received my bachelor’s degree in Middle Childhood Education, with certifications in science, social studies, and reading. I earned my Master’s degree in the field of Instructional Technology from Kent State University as well. It is a passion of mine to find fun and new ways to incorporate technology into teaching and learning science. Currently, I live in Canfield with my wonderful husband Brian and our blue-crowned conure/parrot named, Elvis. Some of my outdoor hobbies include hiking, biking, kayaking, and shelling. I also love to knit, cook, do arts and crafts, listen to all types of music, and read. The genres I love reading the most include: science fiction, historical fiction, fantasy, and non-fiction.
In order to successfully support and challenge my students, it is important to keep open lines of communication between parents, teachers, and student(s). I am available through email, phone conferences, or physical meetings before or after school. Please send a note or call ahead of time so I may be better prepared to speak with you about any concerns or questions that arise.
