On November 2, Kidde announced a recall on their Fire Extinguishers with plastic handles due to failure to discharge and nozzle detachment. Kidde is recommending those with fire extinguishers under the recall discontinue use and contact them for a replacement.  Consumers should contact Kidde through their toll-free number at (855) 271-0773 from 8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday or 9 am to 3 pm Saturday and Sunday. This can also be done online at by clicking on “Product Safety Recall” for more information. Participants of the Columbia County Healthy Neighborhoods Program may have received one of these recalled fire extinguishers. We encourage everyone to look at their fire extinguishers to determine if their product is defective. For more information please contact Jenna Dodge at (518) 828-3358 ext. 1255 or Cailey Nieto at ext. 1250.
