PREMIER HEALTHCARE ACQUIRES PINE HAVEN NURSING FACILITY ASSURING CONTINUED
LONG TERM OPERATION

Hudson, NY—Columbia County and Pine Haven LLC. - Premier Healthcare Management, LLC completed the
transfer of ownership of the Pine haven Nursing Facility from the county to Pine Haven LLC. - Premier Healthcare
Management ending nearly a two year process. The transfer secures the long term viability of the facility and
insures that it will continue to serve Columbia County residents. Not only are the facility’s jobs preserved but this
helps the county maintain tax stability for property owners.  In addition, private ownership of the facility and surrounding property offers the possibility that a senior citizens complex including an assisted living project is possible on the property. And as stated when the contract was signed by the county and Premier, the transfer of ownership requires that the property is now back on the tax rolls, providing important new revenues to the Town of Claverack, the Village of Philmont and the School District.  Columbia County Board of Supervisors Chairman Matt Murell stated, “I am happy that we were able to complete this transaction. It saved jobs and services for our residents, increase our property tax roll and will help the county’s ability to develop budgets that meets the required tax cap.”
“Thank you to Kinderhook Supervisor and former Chairman Patrick Grattan under which his guidance and foresight the county was able to save this wonderful institution. Mr. Grattan involved the public and Board of Supervisors at every step of the process which helped the Supervisors make the most favorable decision. I commend the Board of Supervisors for their diligence in making a difficult decision. “

“We take great pride in the home-like quality of our facilities,” said Bruce Peckman, co-owner and CEO of Pine Haven LLC – Premier Healthcare Management, LLC.  “This is the seventh county facility for which we’ve assumed ownership,” he added. “We are able to make improvements that cash-strapped counties simply can’t to improve the quality of life for our residents. If it is a nice place to live with high-quality care, everything else falls into place.”

Premier, based in Great Neck, NY, owns several facilities in Upstate New York and the region, including a nursing home in Kaaterskill and a traumatic brain injury treatment center in Great Barrington, MA. All of their properties receive high rankings for standard of care. For over 10 months under a contractual agreement, Premier has been carrying out a range of transitional responsibilities in anticipation of ownership including business operations, payroll systems and accounts payable, billing, human resources, and labor management.
