Members Community Volunteer Work

Columbia County Environmental Management Council (EMC) is a group that discusses environmental issues that affect the county and makes recommendations to the board of supervisors. It is made up of a representative of each town.

Conservation Advisory Council  (CAC) is a group within a town that does work affecting the environment in a town. An example of a CAC project would be to do a natural resources inventory for the town.

 Climate Change Resolution indicates that the town board has passed a resolution recognizing that climate change is a man made problem and pledging to do what they can to try to combat it.

 Climate Smart Community indicates the town has taken the pledge to be a climate smart community. Climate Smart Communities is a network of New York communities engaged in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving climate resilience.  ( http://www.dec.ny.gov/energy/50845.html)
