Welcome to the Wilson 6th Grade Center

Our goal is to make the transition from elementary school to secondary as smooth as possible.
We desire to prepare our students not only for the 7 th grade but to prepare them for the
challenges of life.

The Wilson 6th Grade Center serves just over 200 students who attend six classes a day. The
four required core subjects are Math, English Language Arts (ELA), Science, and Social
Studies. All sixth grade students will be enrolled in one semester each of Computers and
Research as required electives. Research supplements their ELA class by providing extended
instruction for grammar, research, and writing skills. Students will also be enrolled in one of the
following electives: Art, Band, Chorus, Fitness, or STEM (Prior approval is required for STEM.)

I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to serve as the principal of the Wilson 6th Grade
Center. I get to work alongside an amazing team of dedicated and passionate teachers and
staff, who bring experience from several areas to help ensure our students can achieve their
highest potential.

We are looking forward to a productive partnership with our families. We welcome the
opportunity to work with your student this year, and appreciate your support as we work
together to make this a great year!
