  1. Create a list of all Marcive records for the month
    Name Month year post
    Use saved search Month all & change CAT DATE to date of bib record load
  2. Online only
    Run against Month year post (1)
    Create a list of all records with location = net
    De-dupe and add final count to Marcive Bib Loads.xls
  3. Fix online only 856 field
    Run against list of location=net (2)
    Create a list of records with MARC tag (!) 85641 has http
    Update to 856 40
    Add final count to Marcive Bib Loads.xls
    Empty both lists (2) and (3)
  4. Dual format records
    Run against Month year post (1)
    Use saved search GovDocs dual format
    Update (30) MAT'L TYPE to x
    Add final count to Marcive Bib Loads.xls

    Empty list
  5. Update civd material type
    Run against Month year post (1)
    bib loc=cvid
    Update (30) MAT'L TYPE to g
  6. check cvid location
    run against Month year post (1)
    Use saved search GovDocs cvid location check
    Pull DVDs and update item record location if necessary
    Change LOCATION to cvid
  7. Update srom and crom material type
    Run against Month year post (1)
    Use saved search
    GovDocs update MAT m
    Update (30) MAT'L TYPE to m
    Empty list
  8. Update 049
    Use Month year post (1)
    Search ! (MARC tag - 049) A (all fields don't have) VVCG
    Global update 049 fields (delete 049, insert new 049) - ask Jane
  9. Create list to send to OCLC
    Name Month year to OCLC
    Loc ! net
    Run against Month year post (1)
  10. check status of item records (sort by item record status)
    Check for in process, claimed, missing, withdrawn
    suppress any monographic bib records if items have been withdrawn
  11. Dedupe
  12. Add number of records to spreadsheet

Update holdings in OCLC

Use list Month year to OCLC (9)

In Sierra Create Lists:

  1. Export OCLC numbers (O) to a text file on desktop
  2. Using replace function, strip out all quotation marks
  3. Remove field label 001
  4. Save
  5. Copy text

    In Connexion:

    1. Batch
    2. Holdings by OCLC number
    3. Paste numbers from text file into large window
    4. Check "Update holdings"
    5. OK to update if already listed as holding
    6. Look at the batch report. "Successful Actions" number should match number of records exported from III


    Delete files & list

    1. Delete file on desktop
    2. Delete list in Sierra
