It is your child's responsibility to bring their book home everyday.
All dinner money needs to be paid at the school office.
Hello parents and carers of children in Conwy Class,
I hope you are all keeping safe and are enjoying spending extra time together at home.
During our last week in school every child was provided with log in details for Seesaw and Hwb. Alongside this they were also provided with a list of possible activities to complete at home. If your child was absent during this time please contact via the email address conwy2020@coedydderwen.merthyr.sch.uk so I can forward the required information to you.
As a school we are still trying to navigate the best way to keep in contact and to get work to the children over the coming weeks. I will be using the school website to add planning and links to activities. Please see under the 'Summer Term' heading for the link to access this information. I will also be using Seesaw to provide learning opportunities. Seesaw is a great way for you to share what you have been doing at home as you can take photos/videos of work completed and upload it to your child's account for me to see.
I will be assigning reading books and activities to every child via giglets online website https://giglets.com/ unfortunately I did not manage to get the children's log in details to you so please email via the address above so I can send these to you.
Stay safe everyone and let us know if we can assist with anything.

Our topic for the Autumn term is 'Let's Celebrate'.
The celebrations we plan to cover are Birthdays, Halloween, Bonfire Night, Remembrance Day, Diwali and Christmas.
The children will be given lots of opportunities to be creative this term whilst also learning to write their name, read and write numbers 0-10, name 2D shapes and create patterns.
All children will be learning to read and write the first set of sounds in Read, Write Inc.
Our topic for the Spring Term is 'Dinosaurs'.
We discussed what we would like to learn about and these were some of the ideas we came up with:
Dinosaur stories
Dinosaur names
What dinosaurs like to eat
How to look after a dinosaur egg
How dinosaur eggs hatch
Dinosaur bones
We made a dinosaur nest to protect the eggs from the sneaky Velociraptors.
We learned about dinosaur teeth and how big they were. This tooth belonged to a Tyrannosaurus. Look at how big it is, it is bigger than my head!
We learned about dinosaur claws. This one belongs to a Carnivore dinosaur. They needed sharp claws to help them catch other dinosaurs.
We listened to the story 'Albie the Adventurer'.
We played musical instruments to create the sounds of the dinosaurs in the story 'Albie the Adventurer'.
We had a class photo next to Dippy the Diplodocus. Look at how big he is! Miss Miles tried so hard to get all of him in our photo but his neck was too long.
We had to follow the instructions on the clues to help us find the missing dinosaur egg.
We found the dinosaur egg in the woods. We had to carefully carry it back to class and discuss what we needed to do to look after it and help it hatch.
We discussed what we had learnt during our class visit to the Museum. We decided to collect straw, sticks and leaves to build a nice, warm nest to help the eggs hatch.
We made a great nest and look our dinosaur eggs have hatched!
We had to be patient and wait for the baby dinosaurs to grow inside their eggs. When they were big enough they had to use their head and feet to crack their egg before hatching.
We looked after our dinosaurs in the dinosaur den.
Our topic for the Summer term is 'Superheroes'
Take a look at our video message from Spiderman on our Facebook page!
You are all being superheroes right now and we are extremely proud of everything you do. I have loved seeing all your fabulous work and photos on Seesaw. Keep up the hard work!
