Welcome to the departmental website for the Teacher Education Program at Coe College.

Information about admission requirements; endorsements; and student teaching are on this site.

In the past, the Coe College Education Department has sponsored a student organization committed to promoting the field of teaching. The Coe Student Education Association has historically been affiliated with the Iowa State Education Association student program. With over 600 members in over 30 institutions in Iowa, you get the benefits associated with group membership: collegiality, networking, professional development.

Our Coe Student Education Association can:

--sponsor speakers, including local law-makers, school administrators, teachers, counselors, and innovators in the field of teaching;

--organize outreach to local schools (we get regular calls from schools looking for tutors or helpers--you could help organize visits to schools);

--plan a movie night: do you love DEAD POETS SOCIETY? SCHOOL OF ROCK? FREEDOM FIGHTERS? Move some tables and make SH 403 your own theater!

--attend conferences; the Student ISEA Fall Conference just happens to fall over our fall break (Oct. 14-15). It's free! and a great networking opportunity.

In addition, local leaders of the Iowa State Education Association will help you get things started.
