At the core of our community is the fellowship that we share. Chances are, there are some people here just like you waiting to welcome you in!

Our Core Business - Expanding the Kingdom of God by creating disciples of Jesus Christ.

UMYF - United Methodist Youth Fellowship
Our goal as a youth group is to have a consistent time of fellowship, fun, and most important: spiritual growth.  It's a place where youth can find unconditional love, support, and help as they grow in their relationship with Christ, so they can go forth and "shine" for Jesus.

...Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in or needing clothes and clothe you? The King will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these my brothers of mine, you did for me." (Matthew 25:37, 38, 40)

Coalville United Methodist Church is geographically positioned to be of particular service and help to those in need.

Areas of Outreach are:  UMC Seashore Mission, Backpack Blessings, Youth Mission Trips, Disaster Response, Christmas Shoe Boxes, Community Volunteer programs and Holiday Meals.

Here are highlights of some of our Outreach Ministry Programs:

Christmas Shoe Boxes:  We participate in the Samaritan’s Purse “Operation Christmas Child” shoebox program every year. In 2015, as a congregation we collected and shipped 275 gift filled shoeboxes.  Rev. Franklin Graham says, “What goes in the shoebox is fun, what comes out is eternal!” “Every gift filled shoebox is a powerful tool for evangelism and discipleship- transforming the lives of children and their families around the world through the Good News of Jesus Christ”.  Our shoebox ministry is under the direction of Mrs. Carolyn McGrew, who states this is not a box of toys, but Salvation!

Backpack Blessings: As a congregation, we collect food items each week, to be distributed to 91 Children in the Woolmarket School System on Fridays for the weekend.  Without the items of ravioli, ramen noodles, mac & cheese, Vienna sausage, tuna, crackers, peanut butter and fruit snacks, these children may not have a substantial meal for over the weekends.  We are very proud to add, we are second, only to Family Dollar, in our collections each week.

UMC Seashore Mission:  We support this “Home for the Hopeless, Peace for the Weary, Refuge for all” mission with our donations of food, toiletries, clothing, monetary donations and special needs during the winter and summer months. In the Winter of 2015, we as a congregation, donated 97 sleeping bags, 49 backpacks, 46 blankets, 125 pocket hand warmers, 37 tarps, 15 pairs of thermal underwear, 25 pairs  of socks, mittens, hats, gloves, scarves, shoes, jackets, coffee, lemonade, and 4- 25 lb. turkeys.  Collection of these items was coordinated by Jan Garner, our Church Communications Director.  Our Praise & Worship band Cornerstone, held a “Birthday for Jesus” concert and collected the same types of items along with a monetary donation of over $200.00.

Youth/ Adult Outreach Activities

Ringers DO NOT have to read music.  Our Music Director, Bruce Garner, will teach you what you need to know to play. Chancel Choir

We sing Anthems at worship services and lead the congregation in singing hymns during the Traditional Service on Sunday morning.  We also perform special music and Cantatas during Easter and Christmas. The Chancel Choir is open to all teens and adults, we invite you to join our choir and help us praise our Lord through music.  If you have questions or are interested in joining, please contact our Music Director Bruce Garner, 228-223-7118.

Senior Lunch Group

Senior Lunch Group meets the first Wednesday of each month, in the Christian Life Center, located across the street from the Church, at 11:30 AM.  It is for those over 50 and each person brings a potluck item to share.  We usually enjoy a game and fellowship with one another. All over 50 are invited to attend.  Mrs. Janna Householder is the coordinator of the Senior Lunch Group.

Second Sunday Luncheon

Cornerstone, our Praise & Worship band, host a luncheon every second Sunday of the month after the Contemporary Service, around 12:00 PM.  We invite everyone from both services to attend and bring your favorite pot luck food item to share.  Devry, one of the Cornerstone members, suggested this luncheon as a wonderful way to get to know each other and fellowship on a more personal level. Please come and join us!
