A Brief Bio

I joined the faculty of Christopher Newport University in the Fall of 2008. I completed my Ph.D. during the summer of 2008 at St. Louis University where I wrote my dissertation under the guidance of Eleonore Stump and Dan Haybron. At the end of 2009, I published my first book: The Prudence of Love: How Possessing the Virtue of Love Benefits the Lover. I specialize in contemporary ethics and medieval philosophy. I regularly teach courses in Ancient and Medieval Philosophy, Modern Philosophy, Critical Thinking/Logic, Philosophy of Religion, and the philosophy of Thomas Aquinas. Complete CV
