Mark is currently in his 9th year of service at Concordia Middle School. During his nine years, he has taught at both the Middle School and High School levels. His courses have included English and Bible classes for 7th grade (Junior 1), 8th grade (Junior 2), 10th grade (Senior 1), and 11th grade (Senior 2). This school year marked the fourth year of Mark’s job as CMS Liaison. While cutting back to half-time teaching, he now works with LCMS World Mission and the CMS administration to communicate, coordinate and meet the needs of LCMS, the school, and the American teachers. Outside of class Mark helps with On-Campus Student Fellowship, Night Bible Study, and Salvation Lutheran Church's Youth Group.
Mark grew-up in western Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University in May 2005 with a degree in history and an Iowa teaching license for grades 5-12. In December 2008, he completed coursework through Grace University for an ESL endorsement. In 2012, he finished taking online colloquy courses through CUEnet to earn his Lutheran Teacher’s Certificate.
