Orchestra Headlines
Western Region Junior Honors Orchestra Auditions (2/16/2019):
The WR-Junior Honors Orchestra is an ensemble made up of the best string players from the Western side of North Carolina. This audition is open to all middle school orchestra students. The audition process calls for the students to play a solo - the same solo that was required for the CMS Honors Orchestra Audition, scales/arpeggios - similar to those required for the CMS audition, and sight read a short piece of music. Each of these elements is part of the 7th & 8th grade curriculum, however, 6th grade students that have played a year or more before and are currently taking private lessons are encouraged to consider auditioning for this prestigious event. All audition materials are available in the shared Google Drive folder called Orchestra Student Access. Students that are selected through the audition process and accept their placement, then will travel to Mallard Creek High School on Friday and Saturday - April 5th & 6th, 2019 to participate in rehearsals and the concert.

Congratulations goes to our 8th grade bass player Britton Stopnik! Britton became the first student in at least 5 years to earn a chair in WR Jr. Honors Orchestra from Bradley MS. Way to go Britton!!

Western Region Solo & Ensemble MPA:
Due to scheduling issues, we cannot participate in Solo & Ensemble on 1/31/2019. The response to the event was overwhelming and resulted in students being assigned times before the school day had ended (all events were suppose to be in the evening 6-8:30 PM). We are currently working with the event officials to see if we can be granted another day for the event to include our students. I apologize for the inconvenience and will continue to work to make sure that our young musicians get the opportunity to be recognized for their achievements.

7th & 8th Grade Orchestra Trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee!
The Bradley Orchestra Patrons (BOP) are working on the details for the trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. This trip will allow these fine young musicians to participate in a National Level Music Festival, enjoy a day at the Dollywood amusement park, and visit Wonderworks. For more information please see the commitment form at: tinyurl.com/2019FBMSTripCommit. The first deposit for this trip is due on Friday 12/7/2018 (subsequent payments are due on 1/7, 2/7, and 3/7). This event is sure to be one that creates memories that last a lifetime.
