Dr. Vakula Rani J   is a professor, I&E Head in the Dept of MCA, Head - KSCST CMRIT IPR Cell. She has 24 years of teaching and research experience, including 17 years of an academic Head for the MCA Department.  As an innovator, she received two Australian patents grant certificates, one Design Patent from IP India, and 8 Indian patents Published. She has published more than 16 research papers in International Journals/conferences.  She is recognized and certified as an Innovation Ambassador (IA) from MoE, Govt. of India in 2019 in the theme of Entrepreneurship and completed advanced Level Innovation Ambassador certification in 2021. She has coordinated various IIC innovation activities at the college level. She has conducted and served as a resource person for various workshops on design thinking, Patent Drafting & Filing, and Entrepreneurship for faculty and students. She served as a resource person for various colleges inside and outside Karnataka. She mentored the student teams to participate in various competitions like FKCCI Manthan, SIH, Idea, and start-up Competitions. She is a Mentor-Mentee Coordinator for the IIC Mentor-Mentee Program 2021- 22 by the Ministry of Education Innovation Cell (MIC), Government of India. As a mentor expert, she extended handholding support to mentee institutions by organizing Expert talks/workshops/interactions with entrepreneurs, experts, and professionals and creating a mentor pool for faculty and student innovators. Guided mentee institutions to participate in ARIIA, adopt NISP, and encouraged institutions to actively participate in Hackathon, and National Innovation Contest. She severed as a member of the  Board of Studies and Board of Examiner at various Universities. She is a reviewer for the prestigious Journal  “ Soft computing”.  She is a recognized guide under VTU and guides four Ph.D., research scholars. She is a Life member in leading National Professional Societies ISC and   ISTE.
