The Wild Hunters of the Juniata is a student organization focused on learning about tracking, survivial, nature observation, wandering and many other primitive skills of the early mountain men and Indians. Named in honor of Captain Jack Armstrong, a mountain man in the 1700's from the Huntingdon County-area, we hope to revive skills that are becoming increasingly scarce in our modern lifestyle of electronics and luxuries. Activities include workshops on specific skills (i.e. shelter building, fire making, etc.) and also cultural seminars on the history and lifestyle of the Indians and mountain men.
