July 3rd 2014 was a hot sunny day. People should be staying in an air-conditioned room with a cold drink. Yet, 60 tough S.5 students taking Geography made use of this opportunity to study the Island Weather on Cheung Chau. They were divided into groups and collected data of each weather element at different check points. Then they processed and interpreted the data and presented their findings. From the field study, they got some strange findings that you wouldn’t have imagined. For instance, they found that places with the highest light intensity do not necessary receive the highest temperature. They then looked for the factors which cause the dilemma. They also found that the wind direction there is different from the prevailing wind of H.K. and that is due to local factors. This is what a field work should be! Finally, their teamwork and punctuality were highly commended.
