Easter came a few days early to Chiu Lut Sau Memorial Secondary School with a group of 30 S1-S3 students running around 'eggcitedly' during an Easter Egg Hunt organized by the English Department. Held on 3 April 2012, the Easter Egg Hunt constituted an engaging and active way for students to enhance their language skills, as they were challenged to decipher clues which required them to look up the definition of unfamiliar words in a dictionary, and make sense of figurative use of language.

At the start of the hunt in the English Language Room, students were told where not to go when hunting for eggs and some other basic rules before opening the door. As soon as this happened, a stampede of students took place. They dashed out and ran around the school compound, scouring for seven eggs which were well hidden in obscure places. Working in teams of 2-3, the students searched every nook and cranny of the school, and left no stones unturned.

The happy frenzy lasted for 40 minutes, with students returning to the base to calculate the number of eggs found. The students thoroughly enjoyed hunting out those elusive eggs, and it was certainly an 'eggciting' way to learn the English language and a delightful way to start the Easter holiday!
