Band Camp

For several months prior; the band director and Band Boosters have been preparing for the first week of August... BAND CAMP!  Monday thru Friday from 9:00am until 9:00pm the High School Marching Band is in training for the upcoming marching season. The students work on their marching fundamentals,  learning their music, learning the drill and learning how to work together. Each year brings changes... new Drum Majors, new Section Leaders and a whole new group of freshmen. It takes time and dedication to come together as a unit.
Band Camp is required for all Marching Band members. Each member of the band occupies a specific spot in each drill... if a band member is absent it leaves a hole in the drill and makes the band less effective. Each and every member of the band plays an important role. Band Camp is not only to prepare for half-time at football games but also to prepare for Marching festivals and competitions throughout the fall.
The Band Booster organization runs band camp, taking care of the behind the scenes needs which in turn allows Mr. Czarnik, with the help of instructors, to concentrate on teaching the students.
Band Camp is one of the most stressful, exhausting, yet rewarding times of the year...for the students and the adults.
"I love band camp...it's a lot of work, but we're making memories"
Ryan Zeller ~ Drumline, Class of 2015
