Mrs. Barrie ~ the person

I'm proud to be an original Bronco - and enthusiastically looking forward to being your teacher this year - Every year is a new adventure, and this will be no exception!

This will be my 19th year of teaching - primarily science, which I am passionate about.  I love to provide a learning environment that offers challenging and engaging activities.  I'm not a spoon-feeder of information, but a facilitator of learning opportunities.

I'm delighted to be back in room 172 teaching chemistry again, and am also looking forward to teaching the newly designed honors 8 course which will be preparing students for advanced science classes.  Additionally, I have a love of both computers and technology and am thrilled to be part of the Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathway this year as Clovis North offers AP Computer Science Principles for the first time.

I hold a Bachelor's degree from Fresno State University, as well as a Masters of Education in Curriculum, specializing in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

I'm an admitted Starbucks Fan, Chocoholic and Foodie - with an obvious love of cooking & eating.  I've been married for 23 years.  My husband, Marc and I love to travel, and have been all over the world with our granddaughter, Riley, one of our 6 Grandkids. I love to make messes I mean craft & create stuff when I have the time, and really enjoy hanging out at home with my German Shepherd Dog, Beowulf and his friend, Spinner the Space Cat.
