Meet Mrs. Berst

This is my 22nd year as an educator and I can honestly say I still LOVE my job! I knew I wanted to be a teacher since I was in 1st grade. I still remember playing school with my younger sisters and friends, of course, I was the teacher!
You should know that I love children and I love learning! I have taught Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third grade.
I strongly believe that "It takes a village to raise a child". I welcome parent volunteers to my classroom. Please join me in making this year amazing for all the children in my class.

Attention Third Graders!

Here are some things you can do to prepare for the year:

  • Memorize multiplication tables- Every third grader must know all multiplication tables and division facts.
  • Read for 20-30 minutes every day- We will work to build your ability to stay focused in reading for one hour by the 3rd quarter.
  • Write, write, write! You will learn to write/type multiple paragraph essays in a variety of genres (opinions, narratives, and nonfiction).

The following is a list of volunteer classroom supplies your child may bring on the 1st day of school.

  • 2 -100 page notebooks
  • glue
  • scissors
  • extra #2 pencils
  • sharpener
  • erraser
