Flipped Professional Development is a structured program where individual teachers meet with a Technology & Innovation Coach on a regular basis. Each teacher develops their own Technology & Innovation Plan, accesses appropriate online resources (including video resources), and meets with the coach in two hour blocks of time four times each year to develop skills and innovative classroom strategies.
Features of Flipped PD
- Personalization is achieved by developing unique individualized plans for each teacher where the content is selected by the teacher.
- Resources are curated in a Moodle course where teachers can access them anytime and anywhere.
- A Framework for structuring the work sessions utilizes a system of rotating substitute teachers.
Communication of progress from session to session is achieved by using collaborative Technology & Innovation Plan documents.
- Sparks for inspiration are generated by sharing innovative classroom practices with others.
