Four Strands

Flipped Professional Development is organized using four strands.

These strands include collaboration, communication, creative media, and presentation.

The collaboration strand includes a variety of tools and processes that reinforce and practice collaborative learning between students, between teachers, or between teachers and students. The collaboration strand includes projects that allow students and teachers to work together using collaborative tools such as Google Calendar, Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Presentations, Forms, Drawings and Moodle.

The communication strand includes all facets of communication. Communication elements include authoring websites, using group lists in e-mail, teleconferencing, and participating in social networking sites.

The presentation strand includes a variety of applications that facilitate presentation of content. Presentation applications can include Keynote, ActivInspire, or Google Presentation.

The creative media strand includes thoughtful combinations of text, image, audio, and video in projects. Creative media projects can include creating ebooks, instructional videos, eportfolios and other digital products.
