Foley Project

Objective: Students will add foley and sound effects to an animated or real life video in GarageBand to create a finished product with picture and sound.

Project Requirements:

1. Choose a video.

2. You must add sounds to 1:30 mins. of your video.

3. Use of a microphone is required and encouraged as much as possible!

4. Only use prerecorded sound effects when it makes more sense. You can use any of the loops or instruments for these sounds.

Helpful Tips:

1. Start with simple sounds like footsteps.

2. Use the loops under the FX category to apply a soundtrack or background to your scene. (nature, city, or song...)

3. Bring in or use props from the room.  Be creative!

4. Add DSP effects to make sounds echo or better fit the needs of your video.

5. BE PICKY! I don't want to hear that groups are done in 2 days.  If done correctly, this should be a week or more project.
