About The Teacher
I began my teaching career in Southington, CT. I taught in the special education department at Southington High School for sixteen years. I helped to pioneer a program for students with severe emotional disturbance (SED) called EASE (Emotional, Academic, Social Education).
After moving to the shoreline area I found the need to work closer to my family and accepted a job at Mount Saint John School in Deep River, CT. Mount Saint John is a private residential facility for court adjudicated boys ages 11-17. After four years at MSJ, I made the decision to move back into public education.

The 2013-14 school year will be my ninth with Clinton Public Schools.  I feel very lucky
to have several superstar co-workers by my side in the Resource B program;
Mrs. Nadeau and Mrs. Cockley. Together we work hard to advocate for
our students and help them to make the positive changes needed for success.

 I look forward to reuniting with students from last year and to meeting all of the new
students entering the program!
Let's work together to make this year great!
Mrs. Butkus :)
