New Agriculture Teachers Named

Crest High School welcomes Matt Greene as a new agriculture teacher and FFA advisor. Matt is a 2008 Graduate of Crest High School and currently is the lead Animal Science & Agribusiness Instructor at Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Before starting at Wilkes Community College three years ago he was an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at East Wilkes High School in Ronda, North Carolina for six years.

Greene graduated from North Carolina State University in 2012 with a BS Degree in Agriculture and Extension Education. He served as a 2008-09 North Carolina State FFA Vice-President and was an active FFA member while in high school serving as the chapter FFA president his senior year. Matt was also the North Carolina state winner in the Extemporaneous Public Speaking Career Development Event in 2008. Matt has a wife, Lauren, who works for North Carolina Cooperative Extension and three children, John Luke, Noah, and Madelyn.



Crest Middle School selects Caroline Yount to lead the middle school component of the Crest program. Yount is a 2017 graduate of Crest High School and finished her work at North Carolina State University in 2021. She was a member of the Crest FFA program and served as a State FFA Vice President in 2017-2018. As a member of the Crest FFA she was on the state winning Poultry Evaluation team as well as the state winning Agriculture Sales Team. Yount and her Agriculture Sales team placed in the top 10 nationally in 2017.

Caroline is currently a board member of the Crest FFA Alumni & Supporters group as well as the Cleveland County Antique Tractor Association.
